Atmospheric Science is the study of the composition and structure of the atmosphere using tools from fluid dynamics, chemistry, statistics, and other sciences. The Earth-atmosphere system exhibits substantive internal variability, resulting in a wide array of atmospheric phenomena across scales of time and space. The system similarly exhibits sensitivity to external forcing. Atmospheric scientists use observations of the Earth-atmosphere system, along with theory and models, to investigate atmospheric behaviour and improve understanding of variability and change.
