Hello,
My name is Lebogang Mataboge,and I am excited to be part of this learning journey. I decided to participate in this course because I believe education is a powerful tool for both personal growth and social change. By developing my knowledge and skills, I hope to contribute meaningfully to creating awareness and solutions for the challenges facing our communities and environment.
One of the main reasons I joined is my interest in how environmental education can empower learners to become responsible citizens. South Africa faces unique environmental issues, and I believe it is important to incorporate them into our curriculum so that learners can better understand the world around them.
Some of the issues I think should be addressed include:
Water scarcity and pollution – as many communities still struggle with access to clean water.
Waste management and recycling – to reduce littering and promote a culture of sustainability.
Climate change and energy use – helping learners understand the local impacts of global warming and the importance of renewable energy.
I look forward to engaging with all of you, sharing ideas, and learning from your perspectives as we explore how environmental issues can be effectively integrated into the curriculum.
