In order to maximize the benefits of both online and in-person training, blended learning attempts to give students more flexibility, autonomy, and personification.
Blended Learning assessment is a combination of traditional and non-traditional assessment. It can be used to enhance assessment of Education for Sustainable Development in student learning in a variety of ways.
First and for most, you can measure the effectiveness of instruction to lay the foundation by probing questions that seek to establish the prior knowledge that the learners have. Whether or not the learners are able to identify critique or describe the Sustainable Development matters of concern. You can use formative assessment to provide on-going feedback as a teacher to monitor and improve teaching and to improve the learning process to learners. It can be taken as a process of evaluation throughout the period of learning. You can proceed with the lesson and can establish whether the learners are able to analyse interpret and apply the knowledge to solve problems in relation to Sustainable Development.
Secondly, you can use summative assessment to determine whether students have learned key concepts or skills by comparing it against a standard or benchmark.
In the face-to-face model, the instructor covers most of the curriculum and guides the students towards online learning material for further learning. In the Online driver model, the students complete most of the curriculum online through self-learning and contacts the instructor on need basis or mandatory, as instructed in the program.
Thirdly, you can use blended learning assessment to enhance learning for sustainable development when evaluate how well a lesson is going on. This will be integration where the teacher seeks to find out if the learners are able to synthesize and if they can align different types of knowledge, values and skills in order to contribute to problem solving and change processes.
In the process of learning, the aspect of Ubuntu, should not be undermined because learners should care for their environment. They should show empathy and compassion for self, the community and other forms of lives in the space.
Final, learners should be able to demonstrate that they are able to critique, evaluate and formulate new ideas and suggestion for changes. Summative evaluation is very essential to determine whether or not the learners can be promoted to the next level of learning.
Blended assessments are a great way to improve your curriculum and make it more engaging. They can also help you assess students’ learning in new ways that will better prepare them for the real world.in reply to: Environment in the CAPS #10537in reply to: Environment in the CAPS #105361.
