Soil Fertility – Assessment Task

Design a classroom activity for your learners that encompasses the following steps:

1. Students are required to acquaint themselves with the organisms detailed in the Soil and Compost Organisms Guidebook.
2. Subsequently, with guidance from the teacher during class, students will craft their own magnifying glass.
3. Using the magnifying glass, students will observe and identify five soil organisms within either a compost heap, a vegetable garden, or a school garden.
4. Following their observations, students will produce a poster featuring:

a. The names of the identified organisms.
b. Labeled illustrations depicting each organism.
c. Two reasons highlighting the significance of each organism in maintaining soil health.
